How to Use FOX Audio Extractor

📥 1. Importing a Video

Step 1 — Open the app and tap Import from Photos to select a video from your photo library, or tap Import from Files to browse your Files app.

Step 2 — Select the video you want to extract audio from. Supported formats include MP4, MOV, M4V, and all iOS-compatible video formats.

Step 3 — The app will display the video's metadata (duration, resolution, file size) before processing.

Tip: You can import videos of any size — there are no file size limits.

2. Enhancing Audio

Before extracting, you can apply professional audio enhancements:

Noise Reduction — Remove background noise, wind, and ambient sounds with adjustable strength (0–100%)
Vocal Boost — Enhance speech clarity with a professional presence boost in the 3–5 kHz range
LUFS Normalization — Automatically normalize volume to broadcast-standard loudness (-16 LUFS)

To apply enhancements:

After selecting a video, the Pre-Processing Options sheet will appear.
Toggle noise reduction, vocal boost, and volume normalization on or off.
Adjust the noise reduction strength slider to your preference.
Tap Start to begin extraction with your selected enhancements.

3. Choosing Export Format

Select your preferred audio format:

M4A — Compressed, high quality, perfect for most uses (default)
MP3 — Commonly used, compatible with most devices
AAC — Efficient encoding for sharing and streaming
WAV — Lossless, uncompressed audio for professional workflows

You can change the default export format in Settings → Export Settings → Format.

⏳ 4. Background Processing

FOX Audio Extractor continues processing even when you switch to another app or lock your screen. The extraction progress is tracked in real time, and you'll be notified when processing is complete.

💡 Tip: Enable Background Processing in Settings to allow large file processing without keeping the app open.

📋 5. Viewing Extraction History

All your processed audio files are automatically saved in the extraction history:

Tap the History tab at the bottom of the screen.
Browse your recent extractions, sorted by date.
Tap any entry to view details (file name, format, size, duration).
Tap to open the audio detail view for playback and re-export.

🎧 6. Playing and Trimming Audio

After extraction, you can preview and trim your audio:

Tap any extraction in your history to open the Audio Detail view.
Use the waveform display to preview the audio.
Tap and drag on the waveform to seek to any position.
Use the Trim feature to select a specific segment of the audio.

📤 7. Sharing Exported Audio

Share your extracted audio files easily:

Open the Audio Detail view for any extraction.
Tap the Share button.
Choose how to share: Messages, Mail, AirDrop, or save to Files.

️ 8. Customizing Settings

Appearance — Choose Dark Mode, Light Mode, or Auto (follows system)
Background Processing — Enable/disable background extraction
Notifications — Enable/disable processing completion notifications
Default Export Format — Set your preferred output format (M4A, AAC, WAV)
Reset All Data — Clear all extraction history and preferences

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does FOX Audio Extractor ask for photo library permission?

Photo library access is used to import videos from which you want to extract audio. We only access the specific videos you explicitly select. No video or audio data is uploaded or transmitted to any server. You can revoke this permission anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos.

Why does FOX Audio Extractor ask for microphone permission?

Microphone access is used for optional audio recording features. All audio recordings are processed and stored locally on your device. Recordings are never uploaded or transmitted to any server. You can revoke this permission anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.

Will audio extraction continue when the screen turns off?

Yes. FOX Audio Extractor registers as a background audio processing app so iOS keeps it active in the background. As long as an extraction is running, processing continues even with the screen locked. Processing stops when the operation completes or you cancel it.

What video formats are supported?

FOX Audio Extractor supports all iOS-compatible video formats, including MP4, MOV, M4V, and more. If a video format is playable on your iPhone, the app can extract its audio.

What audio formats can I export?

You can export audio in three formats: M4A (compressed, high quality), AAC (efficient encoding), and WAV (lossless, uncompressed). You can change the default format in Settings.

Where is my data stored?

All extraction history, exported audio files, and app preferences are stored locally on your device using iOS system storage. Nothing is transmitted to external servers. Uninstalling the app removes all data.

Can I use FOX Audio Extractor offline?

Yes! FOX Audio Extractor works completely offline. All video import, audio extraction, enhancement, and export features work without an internet connection.

How do I delete extraction history?

Go to Settings → Data → Reset All Data. This will clear all extraction history and reset app preferences to defaults.

Does FOX Audio Extractor collect any personal data?

No. FOX Audio Extractor does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. All processing happens locally on your device. See our Privacy Policy for details.

The app crashed or isn't working properly. What should I do?
