Summary: PitchScope is a fully offline, privacy-first audio pitch analysis app. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. All audio processing happens entirely on your device.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how PitchScope ("we", "our", or "the App") handles information when you use our mobile application. PitchScope is designed to work entirely on your device — no account, no server, no tracking.

2. Information We Collect

All session recordings, tuning presets, CSV exports, and app preferences are stored locally on your device using iOS system storage (UserDefaults and Core Data) and are never transmitted anywhere.

3. Microphone Permission

PitchScope requests access to your device microphone for real-time pitch detection and audio analysis. This is the core functionality of the app. All audio captured by the microphone is processed locally on your device using on-device signal processing (FFT, pitch detection algorithms). No audio data is ever recorded, stored, uploaded, or transmitted to any server unless you explicitly choose to save a session recording, which remains stored locally on your device.

You can revoke microphone permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.

4. Session Recordings

PitchScope offers an optional session recording feature that captures pitch data (frequency, note name, cent deviation) over time for later review and CSV export. All session recordings are stored exclusively on your device. You can delete recordings at any time within the app. No recording data is ever uploaded or transmitted to any server.

5. Data Storage

All data generated by the App (session recordings, tuning presets, app preferences) is stored exclusively on your device using Core Data and UserDefaults. Uninstalling the App will permanently delete all locally stored data.

6. Third-Party Services

PitchScope does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or social login services. No data is shared with any third party.

7. Children's Privacy

PitchScope does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The App is rated 4+ on the App Store and is safe for all ages.

8. Your Rights

Because we collect no personal data, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on our end. All your data lives on your device and can be removed simply by uninstalling the App or using the "Reset All Settings" option in Settings.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
