Privacy Policy

Summary: FilmSlate Pro is a fully offline, privacy-first digital film slate app. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. All shot logs, preferences, and data stay entirely on your device.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how FilmSlate Pro ("we", "our", or "the App") handles information when you use our mobile application. FilmSlate Pro is a digital clapperboard designed for film production — it works entirely on your device with no account, no server, and no tracking.

2. Information We Collect

All production information (production name, roll, scene, shot, take, director, cameraman), shot logs, timecode data, board snapshots, and app preferences are stored locally on your device using iOS system storage (UserDefaults and Core Data, plus the app's own folder for the snapshot images captured at each clap) and are never transmitted anywhere.

Handwriting input: you can write board values with an Apple Pencil. iPadOS converts that handwriting to text on your device using the system Scribble feature; the App only receives the resulting text, exactly as if it had been typed. Your raw handwriting never leaves your iPad.

3. No Permissions Required

FilmSlate Pro does not request access to your photo library, microphone, camera, contacts, location, or any other sensitive device resource. The app functions completely offline and requires no special permissions to operate.

4. Data Storage

All data generated by the App (shot logs, production metadata, board snapshots captured at each clap, app preferences) is stored exclusively on your device. Uninstalling the App will permanently delete all locally stored data, including saved snapshots.

Exporting: when you export your shot log or its board images, the App opens the standard iOS share sheet. You choose the destination (AirDrop, Mail, Files, and so on), and the transfer is performed from your device by iOS — the App itself never sends your data anywhere.

5. Third-Party Services

FilmSlate Pro does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or social login services. No data is shared with any third party.

6. Children's Privacy

FilmSlate Pro does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The App is rated 4+ on the App Store and is safe for all ages.

7. Your Rights

Because we collect no personal data, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on our end. All your data lives on your device and can be removed simply by uninstalling the App.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
