Privacy Policy

Summary: DualCast Live is a privacy-first dual-camera live streaming app. We do not require accounts, and we do not collect or sell personal information. Your RTMP server addresses and stream keys are encrypted and stored only on your device.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how DualCast Live ("we", "our", or "the App") handles information when you use our mobile application. The App is designed to work on-device, with no account required.

2. Information We Collect

DualCast Live does not require you to provide personal information such as name, email, or phone number to use the App. Specifically:

Your RTMP server configurations, captured media, and app preferences are stored locally on your device. The App does not require a backend account system for normal usage.

3. Camera Permission

The App requests Camera permission to provide a live front and rear camera preview and to capture the video source for streaming and local recording. Without Camera permission, the App cannot function.

4. Microphone Permission

The App requests Microphone permission to capture audio for your live stream and local recordings. If you deny Microphone permission, the App cannot stream or record audio. You can change this permission at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone.

5. Photos Permission

The App may request Photos permission (Add-Only) to save your local stream recordings to the iOS Photos library. If you do not grant Photos permission, recordings can still be saved to the App's internal library.

6. RTMP Server Addresses & Stream Keys

DualCast Live lets you configure RTMP/RTMPS server addresses and stream keys to broadcast to destinations such as YouTube Live, Twitch, Facebook Live, or your own server. These configurations are encrypted with AES-GCM and stored only on your device. We do not transmit, collect, or have access to your RTMP server addresses or stream keys. Video and audio you choose to stream are sent directly from your device to the RTMP server you configure, and are governed by that destination's own privacy practices.

8. Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. The App uses the open-source HaishinKit library for RTMP encoding and streaming, which runs entirely on-device. If the App uses Apple-provided system services (e.g., App Store review prompt), they are governed by Apple's policies. The RTMP server you choose to stream to (e.g., YouTube, Twitch) is operated by a third party and governed by its own privacy policy.

9. Data Retention & Deletion

Media, server configurations, and preferences are stored on your device. You can delete items from the App's history and configuration screens, and uninstalling the App removes the App's local data. If you enabled saving recordings to Photos, items saved to Photos are managed by you in the Photos app.

11. Your Rights

Because the App does not require an account and stores data on-device, most data management happens locally. You can remove your content by deleting it from the App's library and configuration screens (and from Photos if you saved recordings there).

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
