How to Use DualCamera Lite
📸 1. Capturing Photos & Videos
Step 1 — Open the app and allow Camera permission.
Step 2 — Choose Photo or Video from the switch above the shutter.
Step 3 — Enable Dual Camera using the left button next to the shutter (if supported).
Step 4 — Swipe the mode carousel to pick a creative mode.
Step 5 — Tap the shutter to capture. In Photo mode, long-press for burst.
Tip: For best results, keep both subjects well-lit. Dual-camera compositing is more stable with good lighting.
🎛 2. Creative Modes & Parameter Slider
Each mode has one primary parameter controlled by the slider under the preview:
- Split View — divider position (0.5 recommended)
- Frame-in-Frame — PiP size (drag/pinch supported)
- Overlay Blend — overlay opacity
- Dual Exposure — exposure strength
- Perspective Merge — rotation amount (0.5 = 0°)
Tip: The slider uses subtle haptic “steps” and includes a center detent at 0.5 with a short snap/hold. Your slider value is preserved per mode when switching modes.
🔁 3. Swap Layers (Rear ↔ Front)
In supported dual-camera modes, you can swap which feed is the base layer and which is the overlay:
- Tap the Swap button in the top bar, or
- Double-tap the preview to swap quickly.
☀️ 4. Exposure Control (Swipe Up/Down)
Swipe up/down on the preview to adjust exposure (EV -3 to +3):
- Split View: each half can be adjusted independently (start swipe on that side).
- Frame-in-Frame: base layer only (background). PiP layer does not adjust exposure.
- Overlay / Dual Exposure / Perspective Merge: adjusts the current base layer.
🖼 5. Library, Export, and Delete
All creations are saved into the app’s internal library:
- Tap the bottom-right thumbnail on the capture screen to open the Library.
- Use top buttons to Filter (All/JPG/PNG/MP4) and Sort (Newest/Oldest/Smallest).
- Open any item for full-screen preview, then Export or Delete.
Tip: If you enable “Auto-Save to Photos”, the app will request Photos permission and save to your Photos library after capture.

- Appearance — theme and dark mode preference
- Camera — flash, grid, split direction, PiP swap, dual camera pair, rear lens selection
- Export — default resolution/format, auto-save to Photos
- Storage — optimize and clear media
🧩 7. Dual Camera Pair Compatibility
Dual camera behavior depends on your device hardware and iOS support:
- Front + Rear uses the rear camera plus the front camera.
- Rear + Rear requires a device that supports multi-camera capture and at least two distinct rear lenses (e.g., Wide + Ultra Wide, or Wide + Tele).
🛠 8. Troubleshooting
Dual camera is unavailable on my device. Why?
Dual camera mode requires iOS multi-camera capture support. If your device does not support it, the app will fall back to single camera capture.
Why does the preview look darker or flicker in low light?
In low light, exposure and noise reduction vary per lens and can affect real-time compositing. Try increasing exposure (swipe up) or improving lighting.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does DualCamera Lite ask for Microphone permission?
Microphone permission is only used for recording video with audio. You can deny it and still capture photos. You can change this anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → DualCamera Lite.
Why does the app ask for Photos permission?
Photos permission is only required when you enable “Auto-Save to Photos” during export settings. The app can work without Photos permission by saving creations to the app’s internal library.
