1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how CoRT Circle ("we", "our", or "the App") handles information when you use our mobile application. CoRT Circle is designed to be an offline-first productivity tool that helps you think more clearly using structured thinking frameworks.

By using CoRT Circle, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

CoRT Circle does not collect any personal information by default. Specifically:

• We do not require you to create an account or sign in.
• We do not collect your name, email address, or any contact information.
• We do not use analytics SDKs or track your usage behavior.
• We do not collect device identifiers or advertising IDs.
• We do not collect location data or device sensors.

All your thinking sessions, handwritten notes, AI Coach conversations, Thinking Chain sessions, Diverge history, and app preferences are stored locally on your device using iOS system storage and are never transmitted anywhere without your explicit action.

3. Photo Library Permission

CoRT Circle requests access to your photo library only when you explicitly choose to save handwritten notes or diagrams as images. This permission is used solely to save exported content to your photo library - we never read, scan, or upload any existing photos from your library.

You can revoke photo library permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → CoRT Circle.

4. Optional AI Features

CoRT Circle offers optional AI-powered features: AI Coach (a conversational coach that can propose in-app actions such as creating sessions, filling tools, running chains and exporting), Thinking Chain (a guided six-tool analysis), PI Diverge (lateral-thinking expansion), and per-step AI analysis, polish and scoring. These features work as follows:

• You provide your own API key for the AI provider you choose — Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini, or any Anthropic-compatible endpoint you configure. We never supply or manage API keys.
• API keys are stored securely in the iOS Keychain on your device only.
• Your content is sent only to the provider you configured, over HTTPS, and only when you use an AI feature with your key. When the AI Coach proposes in-app actions, a local audit log is kept on your device recording what was executed.
• We do not store or transmit your API key anywhere else - it goes directly from your device to the provider's servers.
• AI features are completely optional - the app works fully offline without them.

When you use an AI feature, your content and API key are transmitted to your chosen provider's servers according to that provider's privacy policy and terms of service. We do not intercept, store, or have access to this data.

5. Data Storage

All data generated by the App is stored exclusively on your device:

• Thinking sessions, notes, chat and AI history - stored in local document files
• AI action audit log - stored as a local file on your device
• App preferences and settings - stored in iOS UserDefaults
• API keys - stored securely in iOS Keychain
• Export files - saved to your chosen location (Files app, Photos, etc.)

Uninstalling the App will permanently delete all locally stored data except for any files you explicitly exported to other locations.

6. Third-Party Services

CoRT Circle integrates with the following third-party services:

• The AI provider you configure (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini, or a custom Anthropic-compatible endpoint) - for optional AI features (only when you provide an API key and explicitly use a feature)
• iOS Photos Framework - for saving exported images to your photo library (only when you explicitly choose to save)

We do not integrate any analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or social services. No data is shared with any third party except as described above for the AI features.

7. Children's Privacy

CoRT Circle does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The App is safe for all ages and can help develop critical thinking skills.

8. Your Rights

Because we collect no personal data by default, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on our end. All your data lives on your device and can be removed by:

• Uninstalling the App (removes all sessions and settings)
• Deleting individual sessions or history entries within the app
• Manually deleting exported files from your photo library or files
