Terms of Service — CalcViz

These terms govern your use of the CalcViz application. By using CalcViz you agree to them.

Last updated: 21 September 2026

The short version. CalcViz is an educational tool, not a substitute for your course, your textbook or your instructor. Use it to check your own working, not to replace it. You pay once and own the app; there is no subscription and no in-app purchase.

1. Licence

CalcViz is licensed, not sold, to you for use on Apple devices you own or control, in accordance with Apple's standard End User Licence Agreement for licensed applications and the App Store Terms of Service. Your purchase is a one-time purchase; there are no subscriptions, no in-app purchases and no additional charges within the app.

2. Permitted use

You may use CalcViz for personal study, teaching and professional work. You may not:

3. Educational use and academic integrity

CalcViz is intended to help you understand calculus, not to do your coursework for you. Whether and how you may use computational tools on an assignment, quiz or examination is determined by your school, your instructor and your course's academic integrity policy. You are responsible for complying with that policy. Submitting the app's output as your own work where that is prohibited is a violation of those rules and not of these terms — but it is not what the app is for.

4. Accuracy and limitations

CalcViz computes symbolic derivatives, antiderivatives, numerical integrals, limits of sampling and 3D surfaces using the algorithms described in its built-in user manual. Those algorithms have limits, which the app states where they apply:

Verify important results independently. CalcViz is provided as an educational aid. It is not a certified engineering, financial, medical or safety-critical calculation tool, and it must not be relied upon as one.

5. The optional AI features

The Problem Solver and AI Assistant are optional, off by default, and require you to supply your own API key and pay your own provider's charges. When you use them:

6. No warranty

CalcViz is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any result it produces is correct for your purposes.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, grades, marks, profits or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the app. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

8. Your content

Your functions, plots, notes and saved work belong to you. We claim no rights over them, and because they never leave your device we could not exercise any if we did.

9. Changes to the app and to these terms

We may update CalcViz and these terms. Updated terms will be posted at this address with a new "last updated" date. Continuing to use the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

10. Termination

These terms remain in effect until terminated. They terminate automatically if you fail to comply with them. On termination you must stop using the app and delete it.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the publisher resides, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Nothing in this clause deprives you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence.
